The Jaegertableau for the Citroen DS is made from a panel and an aluminium edge that is made by cutting out a part of the original dash. The panel that was delivered by Jaeger is painted in wrinkle at the front side and has black paint at the back. On this site I showed several pictures where the panel is painted in a colour. Actually these look very nice.
Another possibility is powder coating in wrinkle of the panel. In that case both sides are in wrinkle and the holes are a little bit smaller, because there are also small particles at the edges.
There are enthousiasts that made a panel from other materials.
